The Fourteen Types of Programmers

Inspired by this article, and this list of animals, I present to you - The Fourteen Types of Programmers

  1. Tired Ones
  2. Ones that like shiny things
  3. Those that blog
  4. Lazy ones
  5. Venerable Ancients
  6. The ones who comment on articles like this one
  7. Random ones
  8. Those that are wrathful
  9. The ones that seek to learn
  10. Cartoonish facades
  11. Those that believe Singleton is the only useful pattern
  12. Those that belong to an Ideology
  13. others
  14. Those that from a long way off look like flies

However, unlike Borges, I’m going to give some definitions.

  6. The post only sucks if you know nothing about borges, epistemology or taxonomies. If you followed the nicely provided links, you might actually learn something new and understand the joke as well as the profundity underlying Borges’ original list.

  13. An earlier comment said “YOU SUCK MONKEY BALLS!”

If the author of what I’ve read so far sucks monkey balls, then I’m going to have to start sucking monkey balls too so I can write this good.

Can’t wait to see the whole list so I can link to it all at once and then follow the meme. “The 13 kinds of Linux users”? Something.
