The orthogonal equivalent to Google Earth

Is Stellarium, the program that lets you scan and zoom and spin and take control of the night sky, from anywhere on earth, at any point in the past or future.

It is free and open source, and very cool.

Also, if I haven’t mentioned it before, DesktopEarth is also very cool, although not open source.  But it is free.
